Ikon Photos is an agency representing individual photographers, operated by the non-profit Canadian Centre for Documentary Photography. The agency provides both financial support for the Centre and a commercial interface for select member photographers whose focus, in part, is documentary in nature.

However, many of our photographers do undertake non-documentary assignments such as advertising and corporate promotional work, as this helps to to fund their larger documentary projects - projects that often span years.

Do you have specific photographic needs that you wish to discuss? As much as time will allow, we are always happy to talk over future projects with prospective clients and to offer ideas. Whether or not we are the right photographers for you, we also happen to be quite passionate about photography in general. We like the creative process. And as you may have gathered from read this, we are sincere advocates of documentary and documentary-style photography as important photographic genres.

We not only like what we do, but we also like to see others do work that we can admire and appreciate. And if it has important social relevance, this is a bonus as far as we are concerned. After all, the 21st Century presents many unique challenges to us all. For better or worse, the grand story of which we are all a part continues to unfold.
